choices, yet all the same
with a simple choice
all things will change
when i made my choice
my life changed

I choose to be a man
a man to a woman
an ordinary man
yet with extraodinary ways

I choose to take the mountains
with just my mind and soul
although i'm failing terribily
i never regreted anyways

I choose to love a person
but i knew i can't give all
yet i am giving my best
and with nothing short at all

I choose to lead
but with a dear price to pay
too many problems
yet too little time to spare

I choose to make you happy
but i sometimes make you sad
but i had always wondered
how never to make you sad

I choose to be with you
with all odds against me
with your past haunting me
with the mountains pressuring me
with my leadership hindering me
but never had i looked back
and choose not to love you

all the skeltons in my closet
i've finally swept them clean
but i still wonder
why remories linger inside me
i've started life afresh
but when i'm alone
painful feelings still haunt me

feelings being played
by wicket souls
yet when they realised it
i was there to cushion
i saw too many
all too blind
if it isn't to much
i choose to be on the good side

its been long
too long
i have stood against the test of time
came out a better person
but yet
that hole is still deprived
would u guide me
and make me complete?

My OPHIR diary

Another sleepless night, tossing and turning before i could wash all the senarios that could happen the following day up in the mountains. Its not easy being responsible for anything and everything but someone just has to do it. Its me. The week before was horrendous, the exco and I were all skipping lectures and make up lessons to get everything done and forsee potential problems. Working as 6 wasn't easy, we had our blow up points and fustrations but in the end we left early before 6pm on friday to get the our much needed rest. Saturday would be the test of our teamwork and planning.

Early morning, meeting at 7. Even before the school gates open, the ODACians we all climbing into the school through over the gates just to make it in time. Seeing that and making a funny comment was my intention but looking at them being so enthusiatic about the trip really made me feel that all the suffering during the planning was worth it.

Logistical nightmare begins. Unfortunately we didn't forsee the school's shutters and gates not being opened during that time so we had to deliver the stores and loads from the ODAC room to the parade grounds which wasn't easy. Alex, luther and the other J2 seniors were there to see us of and that symbolically marked the the independence from them. Everybody frantically packed what they could into their bags and for shu fen, the size of her bag was 3/4 the size of her but she picked it up and even wanted to carry it on but azhar was kind enough to help her out.

Off we go taking the bus from MJC to Tuas checkpoint. Supprisingly, malaysian customs were slack so not much time was spent there. We continued to breeze on to our stop over point where me, kim, hanyun, shu fen, desmond and amanda had lemon chicken noodles which tasted pretty bad. At least there was still the rammy buger to save me from hunger.

Back on the bus, armed with our poker cards, we continued to trip all the way to the ulu part of the mountian which we will take the longest route up to the square pool our base camp. While walking up, i had this weak feeling in mind. I don't really knew why but i wasn't very ready for this. Plus my heavy load, the steep steps really drowned my spirits. Nevertheless, the ODACians perservered on and this totally sparked me to carry on, as a leader, as a friend, as an MJ ODACian.

Despite the heavy load, i found myself "in the zone" after a few moments of walking. You know when people work out and stuff, they get used to the pain and then the pain and sensations become part of them making them feel adapted to this emotions? Yea, I was in the zone. Except my occasional beads of sweat irritating my eyes, i was pretty much diverting my attention before nature and the floor.

Finally we reached the square pool, our base camp for the next 2 nights. We showered and bathed and had a great time, only thing the ODACians weren't too pleased was the fact that i dipped my feet in the river upstream so they we basically bathing with the water that ran and cleaned my muddy leg =P Imagine the faces when they realised what i was doing!

Then came nightfall and dinner which i didn't eat much, was to busy supervising everyone that i kinda forgot of myself until it was too late to get any more food. Then came the best part of the night! Free time! Haha, i went to the girl's tent to talk to them and i had lotsa fun talking to them and getting to know them better, cracking jokes and stuff.

Second day laid the accend ahead. As always i have to clear the leftover area so i'm naturally the last man and boy does that suck! Can never seem to catch up or have enough rest! So everyone's treking and treking and i'm busy just keeping pace. However the ODACians were super supportive and kept encouraging me to keep up.

Then there we reached the summit and we saw the singaporean everest climber. Amazing! He took a picture with us and that was really awesome!

We went back to base camp and had campfire! Whoa, was cool, got patched up with shu fen.. haha, really embrassing. Oh well... dinner was great, lotsa dishes with rice.. haha... yea

So we set off back down the next day, more dangerous then the climb up cause of the weight and the constant feeling that you are gonna fall anytime soon. The ODACians made it down, no causalties! and we made our way back to singapore...

Yea! GG and G string... i'm the g-string (only coz it rhymes with GG) and the 4 GG (garang girls) are me, joanne, hilda, han yun and cheryl. Reason being we did the vertical 90 degrees repel downwards without any harness. This is the shortest route and the most dangerous one and we made it!!!! we had to wait like 20 mins for the grp to catch up!!! Posted by Hello
